- Someone has already mentioned the AirCommunicator. I spoke with folks
- there a few weeks ago. Apparently it uses a proprietary 1-sided protocol
- to increase throughput. It's a .6 watt phone. Have not tried it
- personally.
-
- PowerTek of Englewood, CO, makes the CMI-3000, a 3-watt bag phone with a
- builtin modem (MicroPorte modem with MNP10 protocol, which of course
- requires a MNP-10 capable modem on the receiving end to take advantage of
- the protocol). This is a pretty solid machine, with jacks for two-wire
- (fax, or exterior modem, input), and other features.
-
- I have worked with this one and like it, although I have not had much luck
- with MNP10.
